Special Coursework
Optimal Design
Taught at the graduate level, MCEN 4125: Optimal Design applies the methods of linear and nonlinear optimization to the design of mechanical system and component design, with a focus on linear programming. Projects include motor control, truss design, solving Sudoku puzzles, and detection and classification of handwritten numeric characters.
Senior Capstone
Working with the United States Army Research Office, my team designed and constructed a concept armor system for future hypothetical medium-sized vehicles. Serving as project manager, I oversaw the execution of the project and interfaced with the our sponsor, US Army contacts, and other stakeholder, in addition to my role as a member of the design team.
Leadership
Taught through the Engineering Management Program,
EMEN 4050: Leadership and Professional Skills provides students with the essential skills to become effective leaders. Through exercises in areas such as communication, conflict resolution, emotional management, and more, the course is designed to spark personal development in both students and those they work with.
